Hibiscus Flowers
Hibiscus flowers are prized for their showiness. They have many applications for both arrangements and landscapes. In fact, there are about 200 to 220 species within this genus. This provides for much aesthetic variety.
It is within the Malvaceae family that hibiscus flowers' genus is found. All of the flowering plants within this family are found in subtropic and tropical regions. This means they are accustomed to warm and temperate climates. For that reason, they obviously need warmer garden temperatures in order to thrive.
The most common of the ornamental garden hibiscus flowers is the Hibiscus syriacus. This is also known as the Rose of Sharon in North America. However, many other plants may also be known by that name. Another term which may be used for it is the Rose of Althea. This is the national flower of South Korea.
