Funeral Flowers

Funeral flowers may also be known as "sympathy flowers." They are sent to provide comfort to those who have lost a loved one. They also commonly serve to honor the memory of the departed.

Here are a few common examples of funeral flowers and their meanings:

•Carnations – The meaning of this flower type will often depend on color. White stands for pure love and innocence, red for admiration, and pink for remembrance.

•Chrysanthemums – In the United States, a white chrysanthemum will generally mean truth. However, many other areas this flower is solely used for funeral services because it represents death, lamentation, and grief.

•Gladioli – Integrity, sincerity, and strong character are some of the implications of this choice.

•Lilies – These are among the most widely recognized of the funeral flowers. This is because they stand for innocence being restored to the should of the departed.

•Nasturtium – Patriotism is the emphasis of this species.

•Xeranthemum – A person may choose this type of flower because it symbolizes both eternity and immortality.
