Exotic Flowers
Exotic flowers are commonly those of introduced species. This means that they were taken into a geographical area outside of their native range of distribution through human activity. Because they are alien to the region from which they are being described, they can often have different appearances.
That is a more scientific definition of exotic flowers. It is very useful in the context of botany. However, the term may have different meanings to different people. For some consumers and even florists, the term may be used to describe only those that look particularly different from the local flora of a region.
For example, in Europe and the United States, the term "exotic flowers" is commonly used to describe those of a tropical variety. However, some of the tropic options may not be immediately described by someone in the U.S. as exotic because it may not look so obviously different. A person may also refer to a native plant as an exotic because it is particularly rare within their region.
